Meet the Authors – 15th Annual Workshop – UPDATE
The 15th edition of Meet the Authors brought the Chelsea Library to life once again this March — connecting young readers with inspiring voices like Lana Button, Cary Fagan, and Rhéa Dufresne.
What began with librarian Beatrice O’Byrne has now reached more than 8,000 students across the region. Over two weeks, children from French and English schools, private institutions, and early childhood centres took part in 30 workshops, special story times, and unforgettable moments with authors and illustrators.

Leacross Foundation Supports Emerging Women in Museum Careers at the Royal Ontario Museum
The Leacross Foundation is funding five female-identifying summer research interns at the ROM, helping to launch their careers in the museum sector. Recognizing that women are often underrepresented in certain fields, this initiative aims to provide hands-on experience and mentorship, giving these interns a strong foundation for future success.
MASC Updates
On 8th and 9th April 2025, MASC proudly celebrated the 34th annual Young Authors and Illustrators Festival—a vibrant two-day gathering that welcomed 258 budding storytellers and artists from grades 4 to 8. Students from 69 schools across Ontario and Quebec—including public, private, and homeschool communities—came together to unlock the power of words and images, traveling from as far as London, Gatineau, Chelsea, Manotick, Kinburn, and beyond to be part of this unforgettable creative journey. The Leacross Foundation is proud to be the Presenting Sponsor.
