The Leacross Foundation attended the Ottawa Food Bank’s launch event for the Ottawa Hunger Report, gaining valuable insights into the current state of food insecurity. Key takeaways from the event included:

1. High-Level Findings from the 2024 Ottawa Hunger Report, highlighting record-high food bank visits, underfunding concerns, and the impact of inflation.
2. Panel Discussion with Ottawa Public Health and lived experts on the realities of local food insecurity, the Nutritious Food Basket Report, which outlines the rising costs of a healthy diet and their impact on our community members.
3. Networking with member agencies and food programs of the Ottawa Food Bank network.

Strategic Partnership

Beyond attending events, the Leacross Foundation actively participates in the Ottawa Food Bank’s strategic planning process, contributing as a generous supporter and advocate as they develop their new Strategic Plan for 2025.
