Leacross Foundation Supports Emerging Women in Museum Careers at the Royal Ontario Museum

In line with the Leacross Foundation commitment to empowering women, we are proud to announce our support for a new initiative at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) that will provide valuable experience for aspiring museum professionals.

We are funding five female-identifying summer research interns at the ROM, helping to launch their careers in the museum sector. Recognizing that women are often underrepresented in certain fields, this initiative aims to provide hands-on experience and mentorship, giving these interns a strong foundation for future success.

Internship Opportunities

These internships, funded by the Leacross Foundation, cover a range of fascinating areas within the museum, aligning with our focus on arts and culture:

  • Leacross Foundation Internship – Biodiversity
  • Leacross Foundation Internship – Collections Care
  • Leacross Foundation Internship – Fossils
  • Leacross Foundation Internship – Ancient Greece & Rome
  • Leacross Foundation Internship – Earth & Space

These opportunities will allow the recipients to work alongside ROM experts, contributing to research, collections management, and other essential museum functions.

A Commitment to Growth and Gender Equity

By supporting these internships, the Leacross Foundation is not only investing in the future of these individuals but also contributing to the continued vitality of the museum sector and promoting gender equity within it. We believe that providing opportunities for hands-on learning is crucial for developing the next generation of museum professionals.
