Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival

Hot Docs first look is a curated access program for philanthropic supporters of and investors in documentary film that grants behind-the-scenes access to the world of documentary. Prizes are underwritten and awarded by participating first look partners. The Leacross Foundation is proud to be a participant/supporter of Hot Docs – first look.

Fire of Love

Fire of Love is an unexpected love story of two intrepid scientists, Katia and Maurice Krafft, who die in a volcanic explosion doing the very thing that brought them together: seeking to understand the magic of volcanoes by capturing the most explosive imagery ever recorded.


Funding towards young writers conference, senior creative programming and engaging artists with students in schools.



The Leacross Foundation has supported OrKidstra as of 2023 with operational funding to enhance existing after-school programming, and reach more children and youth from under-served high-needs Ottawa communities by growing from two Hubs (Centretown and Vanier/Overbrook) to three (by expanding into Heron Gate) over the next five years.
