Leacross Foundation Contributes to MASC’s Vision for the Future of Arts and Culture

February 2025

The Leacross Foundation believes in the power of arts and culture to enrich lives, especially for children, youth, and seniors. We were pleased to participate in a strategic consultation process with MASC, an organization dedicated to bringing these enriching experiences to communities across Canada.

Shaping the Future of MASC

The consultation process focused on looking to the future of MASC and determining how to best achieve its mission. MASC aims to have an impact by:

  • Bringing arts and culture to children, youth, and seniors.
  • Providing school and community arts experiences led by professional artists.
  • Awakening the creative process.
  • Deepening cultural awareness.
  • Encouraging engagement.
  • Giving a vivid demonstration of Canada’s diversity.

MASC Young Authors & Illustrators Festival

April 2025

On 8th and 9th April 2025, MASC proudly celebrated the 34th annual Young Authors and Illustrators Festival—a vibrant two-day gathering that welcomed 258 budding storytellers and artists from grades 4 to 8. Students from 69 schools across Ontario and Quebec—including public, private, and homeschool communities—came together to unlock the power of words and images, traveling from as far as London, Gatineau, Chelsea, Manotick, Kinburn, and beyond to be part of this unforgettable creative journey. The Leacross Foundation is proud to be the Presenting Sponsor.

Celebrating a Milestone

In May 2025, MASC celebrated its 35th anniversary with a gala at the National Arts Centre, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to arts and culture in Canada. Roslyn Bern received a Recognition Award as a dedicated funder for the contribution Leacross Foundation has provided since 2004, and her belief in the impact of the arts on young minds.
