PRESIDENT'S BLOG

This is my first blog post expressing the accomplishments of the Leacross Foundation.

It’s been a busy year with ongoing projects that support education and economic development for women and children. Where to start? Current and upcoming projects include the following:

Leacross Landing

Leacross Landing, is a 16 home development with Habitat for Humanity GO in Orleans Ontario.

Riverkeeper

Riverkeeper just had their annual paddle the river in voyageur canoes and personal watercraft with over 300 participants.

Ottawa Heart Institute

The wonderful biomedical engineering students who interned at the Ottawa Heart Institute just finished their 4 month paid term and are embarking on continued studies. Their eyes were opened by working alongside doctors and technicians who shared valuable experiences observing open heart surgeries and seeing the procurement process for the new labs being built in the expansion of the heart institute.

Canadian Society of International Health (CSIH)

I’m looking forward to meeting the 10 young university women coming to Ottawa with CSIH in October to participate in the annual Canadian conference for global health.

More to come.
