iSisters Program at Bethany Hope Centre for Young Parents

Technology Mentoring for Young At-Risk Mothers is a new project that expand’s iSisters workshops into the new Bethany Hope Centre for Young Parents. Students will gain digital literacy skills to enable them to return to and succeed in high school and prepare for employment. The program builds community capacity to support at risk, young parents.

iSisters goal is to offer young at-risk Moms a full set of digital and media literacy skills, as well as mentoring in new communications technologies at their own community centre, free of charge to them and the partner, providing a familiar and safe environment.

By offering a free, sustainable, skill-developing program for young women living on the margins in Ottawa, we prepare them to confront labour market barriers due to lack of work experience or skills, long-term unemployment, age, culture or language.
